The companies have everything for a memorable trip, from snorkel gear, and stand-up paddleboards, to inflatable islands and cargo nets, as well as local crew who know the area inside out.
When you're not making a splash, kick back with a book in the hammock, sip bubbly in the saloon, or enjoy the serenity of the setting sun. Owners Sarah Ellis-Stott and Matt Oakley saw a gap in the market for quality eco- conscious touring, and in 2011 introduced snorkelling, eco and wildlife interaction, and sunset tours.
They purchased a second vessel in 2013, and a third in 2015 which is primarily used for taking guests swimming with whale sharks and humpback whales at Ningaloo. During the busy season it is not unusual to have more than 600 people per week aboard the Capella and Windcheetah vessels. This includes private charters for special occasions, corporate functions and school excursions, plus scheduled public tours to Rottnest, Carnac and surrounds.
Charter 1 & Ningaloo Discovery implement the best practice standards, have accreditation with industry bodies, and have received numerous accolades including the bronze award in the Ecotourism section of the WA Tourism Awards in 2015. The vessels are the perfect platform to celebrate a special occasion in true island style.

Where | In summer, Charter 1 travels to Rottnest and Carnac islands, the Swan River, and Perth surrounds for its snorkelling, eco/wildlife or private charter tours. From March to September, Windcheetah travels to Ningaloo Reef for its whale shark and humpback whale tours, operated by sister company Ningaloo Discovery.
Numbers | The Capella can hold 38 for day sails and 10 overnight, and the Windcheetah can hold 48 for day sails and 10 overnight.
Food | Guests can BYO or request a catering package that covers everything from gourmet barbecues and canapes to on-board breakfasts and freshly caught seafood.
Drink | BYO is available, or the team can assist with beverage packages.
