Announced as the southwest’s Best New Builder at the 2015 Master Builders Association WA Awards, ProLiving Design & Construction pulls out all the stops to build beautiful homes that realise the visions of its clients.

PORT GEOGRAPHE

Luxury, comfort and practical design outcomes are what make this canal-facing residence a perfect fit for the empty-nester clients.

Since the children had moved on to homes of their own, establishing large open living spaces was achievable, as was a generous upstairs retreat with waterfront views.

A north-facing balcony offers an impressive outlook towards the marina, while serving its role as a peaceful zone to which the clients can escape in the summer months. ProLiving and designer Terry Hodges of West Coast Designs worked closely with the clients through this process, liaising continuously with them to ensure their living and design requirements were sustained.

A celebration of contrasting finishes defines the modern contemporary external appearance.

This includes a marriage of Archstone tile cladding and Scyon cladding to the walls, integrated vertical steel columns and glass balustrading to the balcony, and stained cedar ceilings to the entry and alfresco.

A creamy material palette flows indoors, with the incorporation of gloss-white cabinetry in the kitchen, oversized grey porcelain tiling, and karri solid timber flooring to the stairs and the upper level. Premium passive solar performance is accomplished through the home's distinct north and south aspect.

PORT GEOGRAPHE

This two-storey home was built over a 12-metre lap pool spilling out to the Port Geographe canals. The swimming pool and kiddies pool were integral parts of the design aesthetic, and integrated beautifully with a low slot window from the living zone of the home, delivering both pool and long water views.

As a family of six, the clients requested ample space to comfortably accommodate their children, with inviting family hubs in which to come together, spacious bedrooms, and private retreats.

Clever use of external and internal finishings was implemented by designer Terry Hodges of West Coast Designs, and completed by Dom Frisina of Frisina Design, to achieve a contemporary and stylish look. Black ash-stained Pacific teak delivers warmth and beauty to the elevations while, internally, feature cement dado bulkheads balance this out with an industrial feel. The entry stair turret provides a unique design element that anchors the building to the site. In the kitchen, Caesarstone Calacatta benchtops contrast against the rustic marri flooring, and a soaring void establishes a sense of openness.
