An unmissable screening is the 1980 film Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears, one of the most prominent Soviet era films which went on to win the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Showing on Sunday 29 September, the film depicts three girls who befriend each other in student housing after moving to Moscow.

The festival director Nicholas Maksymow notes how the festival has gone from strength to strength. “The 2019 Russian Resurrection Film Festival has a packed program of world-class cinema, offering a fascinating glimpse into Russian culture from around the globe,” Mr Maksymow said.

More information will be announced soon, and tickets are set to go on sale in late September. In the meantime, you can grab tickets to Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears here.
