Wildlife Centres in WA's North West

Western Australia's North West is home to several wildlife centers showcasing the region's unique flora and fauna. One notable center is the WA Wildlife Hospital, part of a not-for-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, treating, rehabilitating, and conserving native wildlife since 1998. The hospital, open 365 days a year, admits over 6,500 animals across 280 different species. Guests can take a behind-the-scenes tour, learn about the care for injured and orphaned animals, and meet resident animals like Vinnie the Wombat and Banjo and Bindi the Alpine Dingos.

Another wildlife encounter in Western Australia is the Tuart Forest National Park in the South West region, the largest remaining section of Tuart forest and home to the largest wild population of the endangered western ringtail possum. Visitors can join a night safari to spot these possums in their natural habitat. These experiences offer travelers the chance to observe and appreciate Western Australia's diverse wildlife responsibly and educationally.
