North Coast botanical gardens

The North Coast region of New South Wales boasts several arboretums and botanic gardens that highlight the area's diverse flora. Demesne Farm Minor Arboretum, established in 1983 in the Mid North Coast region, predominantly showcases Australian fauna, particularly species of Callistemon. Another noteworthy destination is the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden in Coffs Harbor, spanning 20 hectares with boardwalks meandering through various habitats like rainforest, dry sclerophyll, paperbark, and mangrove, displaying native and exotic plants from subtropical regions of the world.

In Broken Hill, the Riddiford Arboretum, founded in 1988 on former Silverton Tramway depot land, features trees and shrubs indigenous to the area, honoring Walter Riddiford, the mayor of Broken Hill from 1949 to 1962. Additionally, the Burrendong Botanic Garden and Arboretum near Mumbil in the Central West region of New South Wales offers a rich collection of plant species. These gardens not only showcase the region's flora but also function as vital educational and conservation hubs, providing insights into local ecosystems and advocating for their preservation.
