Wollondilly parks

The Wollondilly Trail, part of the Greater Blue Mountains Drive, is a scenic route that takes you through the idyllic landscapes of greater Sydney and the Blue Mountains region. This rural bushland circuit starts off the Hume Highway from Mittagong and takes about an hour and a half to complete. Along the trail, you'll have the opportunity to explore picturesque towns and natural attractions, such as Thirlmere Lakes, Nattai National Park, Bargo State Conservation Area, Camden, and Picton.

Make sure to pack a picnic lunch for this scenic mountain drive, as there are plenty of beautiful spots to stop and enjoy the views. You can stretch your legs at Wombeyan Caves, where you can also take a self-guided cave tour and picnic on the spacious grounds. Other points of interest along the way include the Train Heritage Works Museum in Thirlmere, which boasts a remarkable collection of locomotives, and a visit to the charming, historic town of Picton for a coffee and a browse of the local galleries.
