Whyalla art galleries and exhibitions

The Whyalla region in South Australia is a vibrant hub for arts and culture, offering a range of galleries and creative spaces for visitors to explore. Located within the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery presents exhibitions that showcase the diverse experiences of artists from Africa and South Australia's multicultural communities. The gallery is open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, and admission is free.

Whyalla is recognized as a regional hub for creative expression, with the Middleback Arts Centre hosting various performances, shows, events, and exhibitions. The center also features public art dispersed throughout the city in gardens, along trails, and in public spaces. For those interested in meeting and watching local artists, the Tanderra Craft Village and Darling Terrace Gallery provide opportunities to do so. The Whyalla Art Group's Darling Terrace Gallery features a display of oil paintings, watercolor, and acrylic artworks. The Tanderra Craft Village also hosts a craft market, specialty shops, tea rooms, and special interest groups.

Throughout Whyalla, visitors can find public art and sculptures that reflect the city's diverse culture. One notable example is the 2.5m stainless steel globe of the world and sundial, which honors Whyalla's multicultural heritage by recognizing the countries of origin of the city's immigrant workforce.
