Description
Located in the Coorong National Park, the 42 Mile Crossing is the closest point to access the beach for two-wheel-drive vehicles.
Visitors can take a three-kilometre drive from the Princes Highway to reach the camping and information area. The camping area is equipped with facilities such as toilets, picnic tables, fireplaces, and rubbish bins. The 42 Mile Crossing area offers a lot of exciting activities for visitors to enjoy, including fishing, surfing, swimming, and observing marine wildlife. Birdwatchers can spot various seabirds, and the sand dunes offer an excellent opportunity for hiking and taking in the stunning coastal views. The best time to visit is between October and April, as this is the period of warmest weather. The 42 Mile Crossing is easily accessible via the Princes Highway, and it takes about 2.5 hours to drive from Adelaide to the Coorong National Park newline.
