This particular ride covers a distance of 29.5 kilometers from Mount Beauty to Falls Creek, with a rise of 1,129 meters and an average grade of 4 percent.
During the Bogong High Plain Road journey, cyclists will be treated to breathtaking natural scenery, including waterfalls, wildflowers, mountain streams, and gum forests. The ride includes a series of ascents and descents, passing through Bogong Village and Howman's Gap before reaching the final destination of Falls Creek, where a beautiful stone wall sign welcomes visitors.
The best time to embark on the Bogong High Plain Road ride is during the warmer months, from October to March, due to its moderate to difficult level of difficulty.
To get to the starting point of the ride, which is located at the corner of Tawonga Crescent and Bogong High Plains Road in Mt Beauty, it is recommended to travel by car. Parking is available near the start of the ride. If you are coming from outside the state, the most convenient option is to fly to Melbourne and then either rent a car or take a bus to Mount Beauty.
During the ride, there is a day shelter located under the Visitor Information Centre at 1 Slalom Street, where cyclists can take a break and refill their water bottles newline.
