Located over 100 kilometers off the Geraldton coastline, the Abrolhos Islands are home to more than 120 unspoiled islands.

With three groups of 40 islands each, the islands offer an incredible range of marine life waiting to be discovered. The abundant marine life makes the islands an ideal location for snorkeling and diving. You can explore the spectacular coral gardens and marvel at the colorful sea creatures such as sea lions, dolphins, and migratory whales. Meanwhile, bird enthusiasts can witness large breeding colonies of seabirds, with over 90 different species identified on the islands. The islands are also rich in maritime history, with the infamous Batavia shipwreck located on the ocean floor at the Wallabi group of islands. The Batavia wrecked in 1629 on its maiden voyage from Holland, and the story of mutiny and murder is told at the WA Museum in Geraldton. The best way to reach the islands is by boat charter or scenic flights from Geraldton. There are options for a range of boat charters from three to five days duration, and accommodation on board. You can also opt for scenic flights that include flyovers, half and full-day tours. It's important to note that there is no accommodation available on the islands. Visitors should carry necessary provisions such as food, water, and camping equipment.
