Located on the north-facing Allports Beach in Flinders Island, the Allports Beach Picnic Area is a fantastic place for a day trip with family and friends.
The area provides a shaded, free gas BBQ area, picnic tables and toilets, perfect for a fun-filled day out. The picnic area is day-use only and donations are appreciated to help maintain the free gas BBQ. Gas is kindly supplied by Parks and Wildlife.
Allports Beach is a beautiful, slightly curving 150 m long reflective beach, bordered by dune-capped granite points. The eastern end of the beach has some boulders outcropping, and seagrass meadows grow 100 m offshore. The beach is relatively steep, making it ideal for swimming and snorkelling around the rocks.
The area is perfect for picnics with family and friends. The facilities provided make it easy for visitors to have a good time and enjoy the scenic views of the beach. The caravan park is a short walk from the picnic area; it is ideal for those who wish to spend more than a day on the beach.
Allports Beach Picnic Area is an all-year-round destination. At this time of the year, visitors can enjoy a perfect summer day on the beach with plenty of sunshine, and the water is warm. The winter season is also ideal for those who love a peaceful environment.
