Description
Experience the heartwarming tale of Anne Shirley, the fiery orphan who brings love, laughter, and a little chaos to Green Gables!
Matthew Cuthbert and his sister Marilla, owners of the beautiful Green Gables acreage in Avonlea, Prince Edward Island, decide to adopt a boy from a local orphanage to help them with the farm work. To their surprise, a girl is mistakenly sent to them from the orphanage. Anne Shirley, a red-headed, quick-tempered, mishap-prone, lively and talkative orphan, with an enormous capacity for love, and an imagination that runs on overtime, is certainly not at all what Matthew and Marilla are expecting.
With her penchant for mishaps and scrapes, and with a tongue that never stops, Anne turns Matthew and Marilla’s lives upside down, but also brings warmth and joy into the Cuthberts’ home. Anne makes new friends, especially Diana Barry, her "bosom friend," and begins to find her place in the community. However, her rivalry with classmate Gilbert Blythe, who once teased her about her red hair by calling her "Carrots," seems unshakable.
As Anne matures from an imaginative twelve-year-old into a thoughtful young woman, she experiences both joy and heartbreak. Along the way, she learns important life lessons and begins to thrive. But will she ever forgive Gilbert and finally let go of their rivalry?
