The Arataki Visitor Centre is a popular destination for tourists visiting Waitakere, New Zealand.

Located in the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, the centre is surrounded by native forest, coastal views, and endemic birdlife, making it an ideal starting point for exploring New Zealand's natural beauty. The centre is easily accessible, only 45 minutes from Auckland City.

The Arataki Visitor Centre is the gateway to the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, which includes more than 16,000 hectares of native rainforest and coastline. The centre provides track maps and incredible panoramic views, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the park. The walking tracks are the star of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, and from the Visitor Centre, you can start out on one of the 250km of walking tracks set amongst 16,000 hectares of bush and trees.

The Arataki Visitor Centre is an 11m high building that offers a range of activities for visitors. You can discover hiking tracks, learn about cultural and ecological landscapes, enjoy nature activities, and art exhibitions. The centre is also a great place to prepare for bushwalking, with people available to advise you on where to go and how to stay safe in the bush. The centre is free to enter and is known for its incredible panoramic views, making it a must-see for anyone visiting Waitakere.
