Description

Step into a diverse ecosystem in which creatures from across the animal kingdom coexist. Renowned puppetry company Erth brings to life 14 extraordinary species for intimate audience encounters.

It’s a chance for young and old to meet the environment’s inhabitants humanity rarely encounters.

Using intricately constructed puppets – from life-sized realistic representations, to imaginative interpretations – Erth animates species ordinarily out of reach of young environmentalists. Audience members will interact with rare and exotic animals including the armoured pangolin and endangered Leadbeater’s possum, they’ll find themselves encountering hammerhead sharks, a fearsome cassowary and an enigmatic polar bear.

ARC follows the sold-out 2022 Theatre Royal season of Erth’s Prehistoric World. For more than 30 years the company’s transportive productions have championed First Nations stories and explored natural histories and urban myth – all while trusting in the intelligence of their young audience members. ARC is Erth’s hopeful new vessel for young people to appreciate the fragility of nature and start them on a path towards ensuring its thriving future.
