Description

Thorn-Clarke Wines is a winery located in the always-scenic Barossa Valley wine region, in South Australia.

As a 6th generation grape grower, the Thorn-Clarke family are custodians of 240 hectares of vineyard that includes holdings in some of the most southerly and northerly sites in the Barossa region. The incredible diversity of soils across the Barossa and Eden Valley bring out unique characteristics in the wine and it's up to us to match the right grape variety with the right conditions. T

History

The 1870s were a very special decade for our family tree and its roots in the Barossa. One side settled on the fruit farm that would nurture some of the region’s oldest vineyards along with six generations of viticulturists. The other side, meanwhile, discovered a different treasure buried in the bounteous Barossa soil: the region’s first gold mine.

Now, call it luck. Call it mere coincidence, if you wish but 100 years later, the two sides came together in a union that created their family, the winery and, some might say, their destiny: to produce wines worthy of gold.
