Description

Koonung Creek Reserve, located in Balwyn North, is a linear park that stretches from Bulleen Road to Doncaster Road.

It has a rich history dating back to pre-European settlement, and became parkland after the construction of the Eastern Freeway in 1982. The park faced noise pollution issues due to the freeway construction and there were concerns about the possibility of the park being used for road widening.

The reserve offers various facilities, including the Koonung Creek Trail, a fully-paved pathway, a playground, public toilet, off-leash areas for dogs, and informal ovals. Access to the park is convenient through the main sealed pathway of the Koonung Creek Trail, bus services on the Eastern Freeway, a small on-site car park, and unrestricted street parking.

With its stunning views and serene ambiance, Koonung Creek Reserve is an ideal destination for recreational activities and leisurely walks.
