Hodgson Reserve Bentleigh is a popular destination for recreation and social gatherings.

The playground near the Bentleigh McKinnon Youth Centre offers climbing opportunities, while the third playground on the upper level has a 3D snakes and ladders game. The second playground is currently under renovation and will include a modified basketball court, hit-up wall, table tennis table, bouldering wall, and climbing frame.

There are two picnic shelters with seating at Hodgson Reserve Bentleigh. The more popular one is near the traditional playground and has picnic tables, BBQ facilities, and nearby toilets. The second shelter is located on the upper level, close to the snakes and ladder game. Visitors can book and reserve the picnic shelters or outdoor events through the booking page.
