Description

Located about a 45-minute drive south of Darwin, Northern Territory, the Territory Wildlife Park is a 400-hectare zoo that opened in 1989.

The park is situated in natural bushland, showcasing native animals and plants representative of the Top End tropical monsoonal environments of Northern Territory. The park is dedicated to the conservation of the wildlife by providing research programs and educating the public. The habitats represented in the park are woodland, wetland, and monsoon vine forest.

The Territory Wildlife Park is a member of the prestigious Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA). This zoo harbors many species of animals in various exhibit precincts like 'Aquarium'; 'Billabong'; 'Monsoon Forest Walk'; 'Nocturnal House'; 'Oolloo Sandbar'; 'Paperbark Walk'; 'Rocky Ridge'; 'Walk-through Aviary', and 'Woodland Walk'. Visitors of the park can see numerous native species of animals such as birds, fish, frogs such as the giant snapping frog and magnificent tree frog, and invertebrates such as the flame-backed fiddler crab. The park also harbors several reptiles and mammals.
