Description

Hargraves Lookout Blackheath is a popular tourist destination in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, Australia.

It offers magnificent views over the rural Megalong Valley and is a great spot for sightseeing and photography. The lookout is easily accessible by car and there are also guided tours available.

One of the main attractions of Hargraves Lookout is the stunning panoramic views over the Megalong Valley. Visitors can enjoy unobstructed views of the rolling hills, small farms and orchards, and occasional wildlife. It is a great spot to watch the sunrise or sunset and take in the scenic beauty of the area.

Hang-gliding is another popular activity at Hargraves Lookout. Mount Blackheath, located at the very end of Shipley Plateau, offers a purpose-built ramp for hang-gliders. The site is a favourite among hang-gliding enthusiasts, offering the opportunity to soar over the Kanimbla Valley and, on occasion, even reach Bathurst.

Hargraves Lookout Blackheath is open all year round, but the best time to visit is during the spring and autumn months when the weather is mild and the valley is particularly lush and colourful. Visitors can also take advantage of the many hiking trails and picnic areas in the surrounding area during these seasons.

To get to Hargraves Lookout, simply head west along Shipley Road for about 2 kilometres from Blackheath. The road is sealed and well-maintained, with plenty of parking areas for visitors. Guided tours to Hargraves Lookout and other attractions in the Blue Mountains region are also available through tour companies.
