Description

Cape Tribulation in Daintree National Park is a stunning natural site where rainforested mountains meet sandy beaches and coastal waters.

It is part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

Cape Tribulation boasts a diverse biological environment, with ancient plants and animals in the rainforest and a variety of coral and marine life in the coastal waters. Visitors can explore the tropical lowland rainforests through walking tracks, such as the Jindalba boardwalk and the Marrja boardwalk. Experienced bushwalkers can take on the Mount Sorrow ridge trail.

Noah Beach Camping Area offers a unique camping experience surrounded by rainforests and a serene shoreline. This is when visitors can enjoy activities like swimming, snorkelling, and diving due to warm temperatures and low rainfall. The wet season from November to April can bring heavy rainfall and flooding, causing disruptions and road closures.

To reach Cape Tribulation, visitors can take either the Great Barrier Reef Drive or the unsealed Bloomfield Track. The closest airport is in Cairns, approximately 140 kilometres away. Buses and tours operate daily from Cairns and Port Douglas. It is important to check road conditions and the weather forecast for safe travel.
