The Haycock Point to Barmouth Beach Walking Track in Eden offers spectacular views and whale watching opportunities.

This pleasant, moderate walk starts at either the Barmouth Beach carpark or Haycock Point picnic area. It follows the headland on the southern shore of the Pambula River estuary to Barmouth Beach, within the Ben Boyd National Park in Eden, New South Wales, Far South Coast.

During this 3.5 km walk, visitors can experience the remote beauty and diversity of the Ben Boyd National Park. The track takes you through windswept heath, woodlands, and offers coastal views of rugged rock formations and dramatic cliff lines. There are picnic tables and scenic vistas along the way, providing opportunities to sit and enjoy nature.

This walking track is also a great spot for whale watching during migration season from September to November. It is recommended to bring binoculars and a camera for the best views of these amazing animals.

The best time to visit the Haycock Point to Barmouth Beach Walking Track is during the cooler season from March to November. The temperatures are milder, and it is whale migration season, increasing the chances of spotting them.

To access the walking track, you can start from either the Barmouth Beach carpark, located three kilometres south of Eden on the Princes Highway, or the Haycock Point picnic area, located 16 km south of Eden via Edrom Road. There is no entry fee for Ben Boyd National Park, but visitors must display a valid parking pass on their vehicles.
