Trousers Point Beach is the most photographed and celebrated beach on the island with crystal clear waters, wide expanses of white sand, and a mountain rising from the ocean. It is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, surfing, or just relaxing. On the other side of Trousers Point is Fotheringate Bay with its remarkable granite caves and rock formations. This beautiful bay offers a quiet retreat from the crowds and is ideal for picnics or exploring the area. Fishing is also a popular activity at Trousers Point Beach or from Salmon Rocks. Visitors can cast a line off the beach or rocks and catch their dinner.

The best time to visit Trousers Point is during the summer months of December to February when the weather is warm and sunny. Flinders Island can be reached either by plane or sea. Sharp Airlines fly from Melbourne (1 hour) or from Launceston (35 mins). There is also a shuttle service from the airport to Whitemark, where visitors can hire a car, camper van or bicycle to get around the island.
