Death Rock and Kanyaka Waterhole are located off the Quorn-Hawker Road, just past the Wirreanda Creek Bridge, approximately 33 kilometres north of Quorn towards Hawker.

The site is a great place for a quick stop while travelling through the Flinders Ranges.

Death Rock is a large seven metre high quartzite rock beside the permanent spring fed Kanyaka Waterhole. The rock and the adjacent waterhole provide a gorgeous landscape that makes for a perfect spot to take memorable photos. Visitors can also observe the impressive flora and fauna of the region and go for a refreshing swim in the waterhole. Interpretation panels at the site provide information about the Aboriginal history of the area.

The best time to visit Death Rock and Kanyaka Waterhole is during the cooler months between April and October. The temperatures can reach over 40 degrees Celsius during the summer months.

The site is accessible via Quorn-Hawker Road, just past the Wirreanda Creek Bridge. Visitors can access the site via a short ten-minute walk to the waterhole and the rock. Visitors can park their vehicles at the adjacent car park.
