Gum Swamp Bird Hide Forbes is a popular location for bird enthusiasts, located a few kilometers south of the town of Forbes.

It consists of four blinds that allow visitors to observe the birds without disturbing them. The swamp is one of the key wetland sites of the Lachlan Valley, providing significant bird habitat.

At Gum Swamp Bird Hide Forbes, visitors can observe over 130 bird species in their natural habitat, including pelicans, herons, egrets, ibises, spoonbills, and ducks. The bird hide's location allows for close observation without disturbing the birds. Additionally, visitors can see a magnificent goanna sculpture named Gugaa along the path leading into the reserve area.
