Description

Located in the Brisbane Water National Park, the Tommos Loop and Rocky Ponds Cycling Loop Kariong is a mountain biking trail suitable for all ages.

It offers breathtaking views of Brisbane Water and scenic landscapes throughout the route.

Starting opposite the Staples lookout, the trail takes you on a journey through rugged terrain and engages you in a thrilling off-road adventure. You can set your own pace, search for wildlife, and admire the picturesque surroundings. The Tommos loop trail is great for older kids and beginner adults.

The best time to visit this mountain biking trail is during the cooler months from March to October when temperatures are mild and there's less chance of rainfall. The cool breeze makes the ride enjoyable and refreshing.

To get to the trail, take the Central Coast Highway and follow the signs for Central Coast. Once you reach the National Park Visitor Center, drive straight on Woy Woy Road for about 2.5km and turn into Staples Lookout. The trail begins opposite the lookout, where you can park your car and start your journey.

When planning your ride, remember to bring sunscreen, plenty of water, and protective equipment, including a helmet. The trail can get tricky towards the final section of Rocky Ponds, so take extra care when cycling downhill towards the end of the trail. Other than that, this cycling loop offers a thrilling adventure with a mix of challenges and stunning views.
