Description

Congwong Beach is a hidden gem located in Kamay Botany Bay National Park, just a few minutes drive from downtown La Perouse in Sydney.

Despite being lesser-known, it is a popular spot for locals seeking a peaceful escape from city life.

Congwong Beach is a stunning, protected bay surrounded by natural bushland, providing a perfect backdrop for a leisurely day at the beach. The view across the bay to Bare Island is breathtaking and a must-see. The beach features gentle conditions, making it perfect for all levels of swim ability. Visitors can enjoy activities such as swimming, paddling, sunbathing, or simply lounging and taking in the stunning scenery. For those seeking more active pursuits, there is an opportunity to go snorkelling or diving around the rocky points.

The beach is open from 7 am to 8 pm every day. The best time to visit Congwong Beach is during the weekdays, as the beach and the car park can get quite crowded during the weekends and summer holidays.

Visitors driving to Congwong Beach can access the car park from Jennifer Street in La Perouse. Alternatively, you can take the bus to Anzac Parade and then change to the 391 bus to the end of Anzac Parade at La Perouse. Once on foot, it is a five-minute walk to Congwong Beach from the Kamay Botany Bay National Park entrance.

There are public toilets located near the beach, and outside the National Park, visitors will find several cafes that serve meals and drinks. Occasionally, a boat selling ice creams will glide close to shore, offering another delightful way to enjoy the stunning location.
