Description

Sandy Creek Litchfield National Park is a stunning travel destination located in Australia, just a 60-minute drive south of Darwin.

The park is known for its beautiful waterfalls and waterholes surrounded by monsoonal vine forests, providing a refreshing escape on hot summer days. One of the main attractions is Tjaynera Falls, also known as Sandy Creek Falls, which can be reached by taking the 4WD Litchfield Daly Railroad Road. The falls are only accessible by 4WD due to two river crossings along the way. In addition to Tjaynera Falls, there are other highlights in Litchfield National Park. Tolmer Falls offers stunning views of the waterfall before it drops 101m into the pool below, and there is a 1.6km loop walk that follows the creek. Surprise Creek Falls is also worth a visit, but it can only be accessed by 4WD due to two river crossings along the way.

The most common way to explore the park is by self-driving, and having a 4WD vehicle allows access to all routes within the park. For accommodation, there are two campsites along Reynolds Track, namely Tjaynera Falls (Sandy Creek) and Surprise
