Description

Walker Creek is a hidden gem located in Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory, Australia.

This secluded campsite offers an unforgettable experience that is perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The campsite features eight campsites that are nestled along the creek bed, where visitors can swim, picnic, and camp.

To fully experience the serenity of Walker Creek, visitors must walk 1.8 km from the car park to their campsite. There are only three toilet blocks available on the campsite, with one located close to the car park and another accessed by a short track between campsites three and four. The third toilet is located about 300m past campsite 5. Visitors are discouraged from swimming at occupied campsites but can enjoy a shared swimming rock pool at campsite 6. Visitors can also walk along the creek and stop at any point along the track to take a refreshing dip.

Litchfield National Park boasts stunning waterfalls and waterholes bordered by monsoonal vine forests. Tolmer Falls is a highlight, featuring a 1.6 km loop walk along the creek where visitors can witness the rushing water before it drops 101 m into the pool below. Surprise Creek Falls is only accessible by 4WD and offers a short walk through lush monsoon forest, leading to a deep rock pool and a small waterfall. Visitors can self-drive to explore the area and drive through the park's routes with a 4WD vehicle. For those who prefer not to drive, there are day tours from Darwin operating daily.
