Description

Davies Creek National Park is a picturesque destination located 20 km southwest of Cairns and 1,392 km northwest of Brisbane.

It covers the Einasleigh Uplands and Wet Tropics of Queensland bioregions and offers panoramic views of granite outcrops, Davies Creek Falls, and open eucalypt woodland. The park is home to a wide range of wildlife, including rare and endangered species like the Northern Bettong. Access can be gained by taking the Kennedy Highway and driving along the unsealed portion of Davies Creek Road. Facilities include a picnic area, toilets, a walking trail to Davies Creek Falls, and camping with permits and fees.

Dinden National Park is a lush tropical paradise located approximately 25 km southwest of Cairns. It covers an area of 74 kmĀ² on the Atherton Tableland and features stunning rainforests, rugged gorges, and beautiful streams. The park is home to various wildlife species, including water dragons, rare tree-kangaroos, Lumholtz's tree-kangaroos, and southern cassowaries. Access can be gained by traveling along the Kennedy Highway to Speewah and then turning north onto Clohesy River Road. The park currently has no developed facilities, so visitors need to be well-prepared with their own camping equipment. Fishing, hunting, and collecting are not permitted to protect the environment and endangered species.
