Kate Debbo creates life affirming and joyful works that are abstracted, colourful landscapes in oil paint.

Kate often explores the symbolism of the horse within the landscape. These creatures reflect domesticity but also a link to a more magical world and a nostalgic look at the past. For the artist, horses represent beings and stand for freedom, a playful invitation to a better world. Kates works are visceral, naïve, emotive and painterly.

Debbo is inspired by the beauty of her surroundings, her daily wanderings with her dog in the forest, a collection of special memories and adventures with her family. Through her work she hopes to capture the magic in every day.
