Located in Meningie, the award-winning Lions Walking Trail is a great outdoor activity for those looking to explore the beautiful flora and fauna in the Mallee environment.

The trail requires a medium fitness level, but it's well worth the effort to see all the amazing sights on offer.

The trail itself is broken down into three main sections that can be walked individually or in their entirety for the more adventurous types. The trail winds its way through diverse flora and orchids during springtime, with over 40 native flowering plants to be discovered along the tracks. There are tables and seats dotted throughout the walk, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic lunch. Just don't forget the insect repellent!

The walk cuts across various terrains and vegetation, with each stage offering something different from the last. Each stage provides an opportunity to take in the beautiful bushland before arriving at Meningie Lookout. Hikers can then continue along the track to Meningie Cemetery before returning to the Sailing Club, and finally on to the Pelican path that will lead them back into Meningie.

With orchids blooming in spring and various native plants throughout the year, any time is a great time to get out and explore the trail. The Meningie Lions Walking Trail is located in Meningie, making it easily accessible by car. Visitors can take the Princes Highway and turn onto Sneyd Road and then on to the Meningie Lions Walking Trail.
