Hard Times Mine

Are you ready to explore the history of mining and get a taste of the hard times miners experienced?

Join us on the Hard Times Mine Tour and get ready for an unforgettable experience! From the moment you meet your experienced tour guide to the kitting-out in overalls and cap lamps, you’ll be having fun and learning something new. Descend into the mine in the Alimak Cage and explore the tunnels formed by boom drills and mucking units. Get up close with the machinery and try your hand at the air-leg drill, and feel the earth rumble with the firing of the blast face. Enclosed footwear must be worn on all Tours and we recommend light, loose clothing. Overalls and Hard Hats will be provided. Prices start at $50 for children, $85 for adults, and $68 for concessions. The tour runs daily from 8:30am to 4:30pm, except for Christmas Day, New Years Day, Good Friday and Boxing Day. So come on down to Outback at Isa in Mount Isa and get ready to make some memories!
