Description

Mafeking Bell Mount Morgan is a remarkable monument located on Morgan Street in Mount Morgan, Queensland.

It commemorates the relief of Mafeking during the Boer War and was cast in 1900 by George Frederick Gray. The bell served various purposes in the community, including marking the passing of time during the closure of the mine and signaling fire before the establishment of the local fire brigade. In 1962, it was erected at the Scout Hut before being moved to its current site in 1968. Visitors can easily access the Mafeking Bell and learn about its rich history.
