Queen Victoria's Garden is a beautiful and peaceful retreat located next to the iconic Cyclorama on Norfolk Island.

This manicured area of green is named after Queen Victoria, who played a key role in Norfolk Island history. The Pitcairners arrived in Norfolk Island in 1856 after the British monarch granted those on Pitcairn Island (descendants of Bounty mutineers and Tahitians) the right to settle there. Queen Victoria Memorial Gardens were created by Marie Bailey, a horticulturist, Pitcairn descendant, and Norfolk Islander, in honor of Queen Victoria.

The garden boasts a wide range of plant species gathered from various parts of the world and has lovely driftwood sculptures of animals that adorn it. This garden is a favorable tourist attraction and a peaceful place to rest and appreciate nature. On-site, you can explore the garden, relax under the large trees, ramble around, and immerse yourself in the unique artwork and statues. While taking a stroll, do not forget to keep your eyes open for the driftwood sculptures depicting the cow.

To see the gardens at their most colorful, visit during the spring or summer when jacaranda and scarlet flame trees bloom. It is also an ideal location to visit before or after having a meal at Hilli Restaurant and Cafe which is right next door.
