Description

Sarah Nelson’s Quick Response residency will support her continued development of *Into the Fog*, a performance integrating unconventional masks, puppetry, illusion and interactive design.

Evolving the everyday into the hyperreal, Into the Fog is inspired by Nelson’s account of living in prolonged isolation with Long Covid and her subsequent development of FND.

About the Artist

Sarah Nelson is an actor, puppeteer and physical performer who works across theatre, film and community art contexts. Sarah has performed for Barking Gecko Theatre, Black Swan State Theatre, The Last Great Hunt, Erth Visual & Physical Inc. and the National Theatre, London, amongst many others, and has travelled internationally for her mask performance work in the UK, Japan, North America, South Africa and Europe. She is creator of the award-winning film portraiture project Mobile Moments and recently received a PAWA nomination for ‘Outstanding Performer in a Leading Role’ for her performance in Unheimlich (PICA, 2021).
