Description

Garden City Reserve is a must-visit recreational park in Port Melbourne.

It is one of the largest parks in the area and offers a range of activities such as cycling, soccer, dog walking, trugo games, picnics, and play in the playground. The park is easily accessible from all street frontages and has an extensive shared path network.

The playground at Garden City Reserve is located in the corner section bordered by Beacon Rd, Crichton Avenue, and Tucker Avenue. It features a large play structure designed like a dragon, as well as a flying fox, tea-cup spinner, chain walking bridge, and natural play elements. There are swing sets for both older kids and toddlers, an all-abilities bird nest swing, a wide wave slide, and toadstool wooden play sculptures.

In the eastern section of the reserve, you can find the Sandridge Trugo Club and Hobson's Bay Dog Obedience Club. The Sandridge Trugo Club offers a unique game played on trugo grounds, while the Hobson's Bay Dog Obedience Club is a great facility for pet lovers.

Garden City Reserve is easily accessible by bus, tram, and car. There are several bus routes that travel directly to the reserve, and the free Port Phillip community bus also passes by. Visitors can also walk or drive to the reserve and park their vehicles in the surrounding streets and roads.

There are some restrictions in the reserve. Dogs are allowed off-leash, except within a 5-meter radius of the playground. The flying fox is only available during daylight hours and is locked in the evenings. Visitors should check parking signs for any restrictions.
