Description

The Southern Yorke Peninsula (SYP) Water Tower Mural Trail is a 60-kilometer self-drive tour that leads you through five fascinating murals across different Yorke Peninsula towns.

Among these towns, Port Vincent is adorned by the captivating Port Vincent Water Tower, painted by Camilo Delgado, assisted by Jasmine Crisp, and showcasing local fishing culture scenes.

The Port Vincent Water Tower is an incredible mural depicting scenes of the local fishing industry. As you look closely, you'll notice the vibrant colours and the intricate details of each element presented. The local fishing theme is portrayed through one of the main images: a fisherman pulling in his catch from the sea. The backdrop of the painting features a lighthouse, several boats, and the stunning coastline of Port Vincent.

The best time to visit the SYP Water Tower Mural Trail at Port Vincent is from November to March. During these months, the climate is perfect for outdoor activities and exploring the towns in the Yorke Peninsula region. Keep in mind that the mural is a public artwork, so it’s visible all year round.

The Port Vincent Water Tower is located at Donovan Terrace, Port Vincent, South Australia. If you are travelling from Adelaide, it will take you approximately two hours by car to reach Port Vincent. From there, you can easily find and follow the SYP Water Tower Mural Trail that showcases the other murals in the region.

Aside from the Port Vincent Water Tower, there are four other murals you can see as you follow the SYP Water Tower Mural Trail. The Stansbury Water Tower mural features a large pelican, dolphins, oysters, and the iconic jetty and coastline, painted by Mike Makatron and Conrad
