Description

Pirrama Park, located in Sydney's inner city, is a 1.8-hectare harbourside park with delightful walks along its wide avenues.

The park offers grassy areas for picnics, a cafe and water play playground, BBQs, public toilets, and a jetty for private boats. Pirrama means 'rocking stone' in the Gadigal language, and the park's foreshore esplanade marks the original shoreline.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy Pirrama Park's playground, which features equipment suitable for both infants and primary school students. The park also has a water play area and a swimming area. The wide concrete paths are suitable for bikes and trikes. Grassy spaces provide opportunities for relaxation and enjoying the cityscape views. The on-site cafe, Call Me Harris, offers food and beverage services with plenty of shade.

Pirrama Park is open from 8 am to 6 pm every day except Tuesday. To get there, you can catch the 389 bus to the end of Harris Street. Bus stops are also nearby on Pirrama Road. While Pirrama Park is not fenced, there are designated accessible viewing areas and modern accessible toilets located beside the cafe. Visitors should keep a close eye on young children and those who might run off. The park's Stevedore Walk marks its history as a base for wharf workers and dock laborers.

After visiting Pirrama Park, visitors can explore the nearby Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour or take a swim at the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre.
