Pine Ridge Conservation Park

Welcome to Pine Ridge Conservation Park Runaway Bay, a small but ecologically important park located on the Gold Coast.

Here, the last remaining wallum banksia stands on the Gold Coast flourish, featuring banksia woodland, heath, and paperbark swamp forests. Although urban development has all but destroyed the dune vegetation on the Gold Coast, the remaining patch of wallum heath protected in this small park is a significant cultural and ecological site for the Kombumerri-Ngarangwal people. The park offers visitors an escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, with activities like strolling and cycling.

The park offers two tracks for visitors to explore. The sealed boundary track is suitable for prams and wheelchair access. Simultaneously, the sandy track leads visitors through the heart of the park, providing visitors with spectacular views of the various plant species found in the park. Visitors can see the tall bloodwood trees that tower above, paperbark swamps, and heath. The park's ecological significance also means that it's an excellent location for you to see rare wildflowers like banksia, boronia, and the wallum wedge pea. From late winter through to spring, specifically after good autumn rains, visitors can enjoy wildflowers' spectacle. The park also offers a haven for bird watchers, so make sure you bring your binoculars. Pine Ridge Conservation Park Runaway Bay is open all year round, so visitors can visit at any time of the year.
