It is approximately 91 kilometers from Adelaide.

Adventure enthusiasts, including divers and swimmers, will find Second Valley to be an excellent spot. The reef can be accessed from the beach or the jetty, and there are multiple ways to start your dive. Visitors can swim across the first bay or walk around the second bay to enter. The base of the cliff on the southern point of the second bay has two small caves that are easy to find. Further along, there are some easy swim-throughs. Divers can explore the reef and encounter various fish species, such as leafy and weedy sea dragons, around a small bommie located about 20 meters from the shore. Snorkeling and swimming in the crystal-clear waters are also popular activities.

The ideal time to visit Second Valley Lasseters Reef is during south-easterly winds when the water conditions are favorable for diving, snorkeling, or swimming. The Fleurieu Peninsula experiences moderate temperatures throughout the year, allowing visitors to choose their preferred time to visit.

Second Valley is accessible by car and is a short distance from Adelaide. Travelers can follow the Southern Expressway, then the Main South Road, before turning off at Myponga. From there, it is a scenic drive through rural farmlands and small towns to reach Second Valley. Parking is available at the beach carpark.
