Description
An exhibition of paintings from Australia's Tiwi Islands and sculptures from Arnhem Land
Artitja Fine Art Gallery is delighted to present this pop-up exhibition of paintings expertly selected by Director Anna Kanaris. This will be the gallery's fourth exhibition over the past decade with the Munupi Artists who live in the tiny community of Pirlangimpi on Melville Island, the larger of the two islands (Bathurst being the smaller).
The exhibition will include a sculptural display of Mimih Spirit carvings, pandanus weave dogs and Lorrkon - hollow logs, intricately painted by the artists from the Maningrida Art centre in Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory.
