Description

Located in St Ives, on Sydney's upper north shore, the Pipeline and Bungaroo tracks follow through bush and valley vistas to reach the Middle Harbour Creek's Stepping Stones crossing.

This is a short walk of two adjoining tracks.

Starting at Pipeline Trail, you'll follow the trail for about 300 metres before turning left onto Bungaroo Track. Take a moment to appreciate the vistas from the lookout before descending down steeply between rocky outcrops, where you'll pass by banksias, grevilleas, and wildflowers in the spring. As you reach the end of the walk, you'll arrive at the Stepping Stones Crossing of Middle Harbour Creek.

If you are feeling adventurous, and it's safe to do so, you can cross the stepping stones to join other great Sydney walks. By turning right, you'll take the Governor Philip Walk to Davidson Park, whereas if you turn left, you'll join the Middle Harbour Track to the Cascades. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy more of Sydney's waterways and great outdoors.

St. Ives is approximately 20 kilometers away from Sydney's Central Business District. You can use public transport to reach the starting point of the walk by bus routes 194 and 195, with a bus stop located a short walk away from the track's entrance. If driving is your option, there is plenty of free parking available at the trailhead, located at the end of Hunter Avenue.
