Description

Located just a short distance from the centre of the garden village of Stirling in the Adelaide Hills, the Woorabinda Lake & Bushland Reserves is spread over 34 hectares of parkland, offering numerous walking trails, picnic spots, and wildlife watching opportunities.

The park offers approximately four kilometres of walking trails that take visitors on an adventure through reed-fringed wetlands, lush woodlands, and home to resident koalas. Woorabinda Lake was originally constructed to provide water for steam locomotives, but it now plays host to numerous bird species, fish, amphibians, and reptiles, making it a fascinating oasis in the midst of the Adelaide Hills. If you happen to visit Woorabinda Lake & Bushland Reserves on a Wednesday, then you might catch members of the Stirling Marblehead Yacht Racing Club racing their remote-controlled boats around the lake. The best time to visit Woorabinda Lake and Bushland Reserves is during the spring and autumn months, when temperatures are mild and rainfall is minimal. Visitors to Woorabinda Lake and Bushland Reserves can walk from Stirling center in just 15 minutes or drive in less than two. To enter the park, utilize either the Ethel Street or Branch Road main entrance. It only takes a couple of minutes to drive to the park from Stirling and 25 minutes from Adelaide city. You can park right by the lake on Woorabinda Drive.
