The area is also popular among nature lovers due to the stunning mountainous ranges surrounding the lakes.

Nearby is the world-famous Gordon Dam, which is a prominent landmark situated near Strathgordon. Visitors can participate in one of the highest commercial abseiling opportunities offered by Aardvark Adventures. The experience is truly unique as one descends the 100-metre-high dam face.

The best time to visit Lake Pedder's area is between December and April, during Tasmania's summer months. During summers, pleasant weather conditions and clearer skies allow for better visibility of mountains and surrounding landscapes. Visitors should note that due to the mountainous region's unpredictable weather patterns, snow, rain, wind, and sun are possible at any time of year.
