Description

Lake Bindegolly National Park is a protected area in Dynevor, Shire of Bulloo, South West Queensland, Australia.

It is located 871 km west of Brisbane and 40 km from the town of Thargomindah. The park was established to conserve the rare Acacia ammophila plant population and is situated within the Mulga Lands bioregion. Lake Bindegolly consists of three lakes, two of which are saline and one that is freshwater.

Bird enthusiasts and watchers will find Lake Bindegolly National Park to be a haven for avian species. It has been designated as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by BirdLife International. Covering an area of 318 km2, the park provides a safe habitat for various bird species. Some of the notable species include the blue-billed duck, red-necked avocet, and inland dotterel. These populations represent over 1% of global numbers. To make the most of bird watching opportunities, be sure to bring binoculars and a bird guidebook.
