Keppel Bay Islands National Park

Keppel Bay Islands National Park is a group of 13 islands located in Keppel Bay, off the coast of Yeppoon and Emu Park on the Capricorn Coast.

The largest island, Great Keppel Island, is a popular tourist attraction but not part of the National Park. One of the 13 islands, North Keppel Island, used to have a small resort from the early 1950s to 1994, but is now managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.

Visitors to the National Park can enjoy a range of activities, including camping on North Keppel Island. The island also offers opportunities for reef walking, boating, fishing, wildlife watching, diving, and snorkelling. It serves as an environmental school that educates students about the island's natural environment.

Facilities on North Keppel Island are basic, with camping sites available. Visitors are advised to bring their own provisions as there are no grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, or bars on the island.

Access to North Keppel Island is limited to private boats or chartered boats and ferries departing from Ross Creek in Yeppoon or the Roslyn Bay Boat Harbour. Visitors should contact charter operators for more information about booking and travel schedules.
