Description

Tully Gorge National Park, located in Queensland, is a natural marvel that is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts.

Created in 1988, the park is part of the renowned Wooroonooran Important Bird Area, making it an ideal location for bird watching.

One of the main attractions in the park is the Tully Gorge Lookout. To reach it, visitors can follow Tully Falls Road, starting on the outskirts of Ravenshoe at the junction of the Mount Garnet Road. The Tully Gorge National Park turnoff is 24 km down the road. From the Lookout, visitors can admire the Tully River as it cascades down massive rock walls and lush rainforest. The waterfalls are most impressive during the wet season, offering a spectacular sight. A short 800 m trail leads to a lookout spot above the falls, providing breathtaking views of the surroundings.

To access Tully Gorge National Park, visitors can take a 1 km gravel road that leads to a car park and viewing platform. It is important to note that the park can get busy during peak seasons, so arriving early is recommended to secure a parking spot. Additionally, visitors should come prepared with insect repellent and suitable clothing and footwear for a day spent in the bush.
