Description

Nakurami Kondoli Whale Lookout Waitpinga is a peaceful spot with stunning coastal views.

Located at Kings Beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula, it is just a ten-minute drive from Victor Harbor. It is also a popular place for bird watching, with seabirds flocking to the nearby island.

At the lookout, there are benches where you can sit and enjoy the fresh sea air while taking in the coastal scenery. You can also learn about the history, types of whales, and the Nakurami Shark Dreaming story. Additionally, the lookout serves as a starting point for walkers on the Heysen trail, a scenic hiking trail that covers over 1200 km through the Fleurieu Peninsula and the Flinders Ranges. Southern Right Whales, Humpback Whales, and occasionally Orcas can be observed from the viewing platform during this time. Spring and autumn are also great times to visit for the coastal scenery and the Heysen Trail.

To get to the lookout, you can easily drive there. It is a ten-minute drive from Victor Harbor, and you can follow the signs to Kings Beach. The lookout is located at the end of Franklin Parade.
