Whyte Hills Lookout Waratah is a scenic spot in Tasmania that offers a panoramic view of the Tarkine Wilderness.

It is conveniently located just a 1 km drive past Philosopher Falls on the Corinna Road. The lookout provides visitors with the opportunity to appreciate the stunning landscape of Australia's largest area of temperate rainforest. Throughout the lookout, there are interpretive signage that offer information on the surrounding flora and fauna. It is also a great place for photography, allowing visitors to capture the enigmatic beauty of the wilderness.

One notable feature of the Whyte Hills Lookout is the Western Wilds public art sculpture. Designed by Tasmanian artist Matt Calvert, this sculpture showcases the significance of the Tarkine Wilderness in the lives and culture of Tasmania.

The best time to visit the lookout is during the day when the weather is clear. It is accessible all year round, and temperatures range between 10°C to 20°C during the daytime from autumn to spring, and between 17°C and 23°C in the summer.

Getting to Whyte Hills Lookout is easy by car. It is located about a 1 km drive past Philosopher Falls on the Corinna Road. Visitors can access Philosopher Falls from the Waratah-Wynyard or the Cradle Mountain-Lake Saint Clair National Park roads. If using public transport, the lookout can be reached via the Burnie-Wynyard and Launceston airports. Car rentals are available at these airports to help visitors reach the lookout.
