Description

The Werribee River Trail offers scenic cycling and walking paths along the Werribee River in Werribee's outer western suburb.

It is a shared-use path for cyclists and pedestrians to explore the natural beauty of the region.

The path runs on both sides of the Werribee River, with an additional 2.5 km extension on the eastern side. It terminates at Werribee Mansion in the south and at Riversdale Drive and Hope Way in the north, near the junction of Davis Creek and the Werribee River. Two new footbridges were constructed as part of the Werribee Regional Park development, providing access to Werribee Mansion and Werribee Zoo.

The Werribee River Aqueduct project in 2010 resulted in the construction of a footbridge at the Federation Trail/Princes Freeway intersection. This allows riders to continue traveling further south along the west side of the Werribee River. The trail also connects with the Federation Trail and Princes Freeway at the Princes Freeway interchange, providing access to the city or the option to travel further west.

With its stunning vistas and diverse terrain, the Werribee River Trail is a must-visit destination for adventure seekers, nature lovers, and anyone who wants to experience the beauty of the region. It offers a great way to access some of Melbourne's most beautiful landscapes in the west.
